  • This planning area is in the West County deanery with the addition of St. Paul from the South County deanery. There are 11 territorial parishes and 1 personal parish. 9 elementary schools are in this planning area.
  • An affluent area with median household income of $102,000, second highest of any planning area.
  • Also a very Catholic area with 29% of the resident population Catholic, third highest of any planning area.
  • Baptisms are on a decline and are now near the level of funerals.
  • Slightly more children in Catholic schools than PSR, though both are declining.
  • A 33% decline in Mass attendance during the past decade.
  • Currently there are 21 diocesan and 3 order/non-diocesan priests assigned to this planning area.
  • Long term, there may be only 23 diocesan priests available for ministry in this planning area.
