  • 33% of the population is registered Catholic, which is the 2nd highest of any planning area.
  • An aging resident population - % over age 55 has grown from 25% in 1990 to 36% in 2020.
  • An aging Catholic population as funerals now exceed baptisms.
  • The Catholics of this planning area have a preference for Catholic day schools over PSR as day school enrollment is twice that of PSR.
  • A 34% decline in Mass attendance during the past decade.
  • Currently there are 17 diocesan priests and 3 order priests assigned to the planning area.
  • Long term, there may be only 16 diocesan priests available for ministry to this planning area.
