  • Located in the Washington deanery. There are 15 territorial parishes, 1 mission and 8 elementary schools.
  • Population in the 2020 census grew by 2% compared to 2010. Catholic households declined by 2% over the same time period.
  • Baptisms have consistently been well ahead of funerals, but baptisms declined sharply during the two COVID years.
  • Though Catholic school enrollment declined by 5% during the past decade (2nd best of all planning areas), enrollment actually has grown over the past 4 years.
  • Nearly 3 times as many elementary school age children are in a Catholic school compared to PSR.
  • A 24% decline in Mass attendance during the past decade.
  • Currently there are 14 diocesan priests assigned to this planning area.
  • Long term, there may be only 6-7 diocesan priests available for ministry in this planning area.
