  • Located in the North County deanery. There are 10 territorial parishes and 4 elementary schools (6 school campuses) in this planning area.
  • There has been a significant shift in the racial composition of the planning area:
    • The percentage of the white population decreased from 69% in 1990 to 24% in 2020
    • The percentage of the black population increased from 29% in 1990 to 69% in 2020
  • Registered households in the planning area declined by 34% during the past decade, the largest decline of any planning area.
  • There are few baptisms, a declining number of children in Catholic schools, and few children in PSR.
  • A 50% decline in Mass attendance during the past decade, largest of any planning area
  • Currently there are 11 diocesan priests assigned to this planning area
  • Long term, there may be only 6 diocesan priests available for ministry to this planning area.
